Brent crude falls below US$50/bbl for 1st time since July 2017

SINGAPORE (Dec 26): Brent crude falls as much as 1.1% to US$49.93/bbl on London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange on Wednesday.

* The global benchmark slides below US$50/bbl for the first time since July 2017

* Futures for Feb. settlement were trading down 27 cents at US$50.20/bbl at 9:44am Singapore time
