KUALA LUMPUR (Mar 6): Trading of airline caterer, Brahim’s Holdings Bhd’s (Brahim's) shares has been suspended from 10.12 am pending a material announcement.

Before the suspension, Brahim’s shares were trading at 86 sen apiece, up 4 sen, or a slight rebound from two days ago when it plunged to a two-year low after releasing a poor set of financial results.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec 31,2014, Brahim’s registered a net loss of RM40.3 million versus a profit of RM12.7 million for the same period in 2013. The loss arose out of its dispute with national carrier, Malaysia Airlines Systems Bhd (MAS) over its catering contract.

MAS, which is undergoing a major cost-cutting exercise, has renegotiated the terms of its exclusive 25-year catering contract with Brahim’s. It was announced this week that Brahim’s would take a 25% cut in monthly bills, pending the signing of a new catering deal.
