KUALA LUMPUR: Contraves Advanced Devices Sdn Bhd, a joint venture company of Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd (BHIC), has been awarded a £3.88 million (RM20.39 million) contract by Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd, which is an associate of BHIC and a a subsidiary of Boustead Holdings Bhd. 

In a Bursa filing this evening, Boustead Holdings said the contract was to design, construct, equip, install, commission, integrate, test, trial and deliver six units of second generation patrol vessels with littoral combat capabilities. 

"The effective date of contract is anticipated to be on or before Dec 22 2014," Boustead said in the filing. 

The award was given to Boustead Naval Shipyard by the Malaysian government. 

Boustead Holdings closed one sen down at RM4.94, with a market capitalisation of RM5.11 billion, while BHIC was also one sen lower at RM2.29, with a market capitalisation of RM568.97 million.
