<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC) said its indirect unit has bagged a RM150 million contract from the defence ministry for the provision of in-service support for prime minister-class submarines for the Royal Malaysian Navy.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The contract awarded to Boustead DCNS Naval Corp Sdn Bhd (BDNC) is for a 13-month period from Dec 1, 2018, BHIC said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>BDNC is 40%-owned by French shipbuilder Naval Group and 60% by BHIC Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BHIC.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“A formal contract between the government of Malaysia and BDNC will be finalised and signed at a later date,” BHIC said.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The contract will contribute positively to the group’s earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2019, BHIC said.</p></div>
