KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) said today the central bank’s international reserves amounted to US$102.6 billion as at last Friday (May 15, 2020).

"The reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.1 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times total short-term external debt,” BNM said in a statement today.

On May 8 this year, BNM said its international reserves amounted to US$102.5 billion as at April 30, 2020. The reserves position was sufficient to finance 7.9 months of retained imports and was 1.1 times total short-term external debt, it said.
