KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd (BMW Group Malaysia) saw its vehicle sales in the country for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2014, increase by 18% to 6,629 units, as compared to 5,616 units in the same period a year ago.
The 6,629 units delivered consisted of 5,782 BMW, 473 MINI and 374 BMW Motorrad vehicles.
BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director Alan Harris said the group’s nine-month performance set another benchmark for the premium automotive brand in Malaysia.
“Since the start of the year, we have experienced positive growth which further emphasizes the strength of the business here in Malaysia, and for that I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our valued Malaysian customers,” said Harris in a statement today.
Harris added that aside from the launch of eleven new premium cars and seven new premium motorcycles this year, the group is also committed to the local assembly of the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW X3, BMW X5 and the 55 Edition MINI Cooper Countryman at its facility in Kulim, Kedah, growing the number of locally-assembled models to 17 variants.
