PETALING JAYA (Feb 8): Blogger Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen has lodged a report at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) against Datuk S Ambiga (pictured) over allegations that RM90 million was paid by UMNO to PAS, reported The Star yesterday.

“The key to MACC’s investigations is simple, as it centres on Ambiga.

“All MACC has to do is to haul her up and question her on what was filed in court by Clare Rewcastle Brown,” Raggie was reported telling the media after lodging a report at the MACC headquarters in Shah Alam yesterday.

An article carried by the Sarawak Report news portal in 2016 had claimed that UMNO allegedly paid RM90 million to PAS leaders to secure their support and that the money could have been from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) funds.

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had filed a defamation suit against Sarawak Report editor Rewcastle-Brown over the article.

But earlier this month, Abdul Hadi reportedly settled the case out of court and Rewcastle-Brown subsequently withdrew her counterclaims.

Raggie said Rewcastle Brown had relied on Ambiga’s information on the alleged RM90 million payment to PAS, reported the English daily.

“Claire stated in her defence and counterclaim filed with the High Court in London on Oct 11, 2017, that it was Ambiga who revealed to her that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak paid RM90mil to certain PAS leaders.

“All Ambiga has to do now is to tell the MACC if this is true or not and show proof of her claims,” Raggie added.

Raggie also explained that he lodged the report against Ambiga as his The Third Force blog was “allegedly mentioned several times by Rewcastle Brown in her court documents”.
