KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 7): Bina Puri Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Bina Puri Sdn Bhd (BPSB) via a joint venture (JV) company has secured a 7.75 billion baht (about RM1.04 billion) contract to build a portion of a planned high-speed railway that will link Thailand’s capital Bangkok to other parts of the country.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia today, Bina Puri said BPSB through its JV company SPTK Joint Venture Co Ltd had bid for and won the package which will connect Bangkok to Nong Khai and Nakhon Ratchasima.

According to Bina Puri, the group has since 2003 completed 26 Thai projects with an approximate value of RM2 billion.

At Bursa’s 12:30pm break today, Bina Puri settled up one sen or 13.33% at 8.5 sen for a market value of RM72.58 million. The stock saw some 16 million shares traded.
