KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 5): Berjaya Philippines Inc has increased its stake in 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd by buying 6.5 million shares or a 0.58% stake.
This brings its total to 18 million shares or a 1.59% stake in 7-Eleven Malaysia.
In a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange today, Berjaya Philippines said it has paid a total of RM9.61 million or an average price of RM1.48 per 7-Eleven Malaysia share in purchases made in the open market during March 1 to Sept 3.
7-Eleven Malaysia operates the single largest convenience store chain in Malaysia with more than 2,100 convenience stores all over Malaysia.
7-Eleven Malaysia shares ended the morning session unchanged at RM1.40, with 1.32 million shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM1.56 billion.
