KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Bank Rakyat has appointed Datuk Rosman Mohamed as its acting managing director effective Aug 1, following the departure of Datuk Zulkiflee Abbas Abdul Hamid from the group on April 2 after the end of a two-year contract.

In a statement today, Bank Rakyat said Rosman was appointed as one of the bank’s directors from April 1 until March 31, 2020.

Bank Rakyat chairman Datuk Noripah Kamso said Rosman’s appointment will ensure continuity, allowing the bank to execute its strategies and plans which are already in place, with minimal disruption to operations.

“This appointment marks a continuous endeavour by the bank to realign itself for a sustainable and progressive future in a constantly changing landscape towards achieving its aspiration to serve the community, nation and planet,” she said.

Rosman holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Louis University, Missouri, and Bachelor of Business Administration from Urbana University, Ohio.

He has over 30 years of experience in management in various industries, including banking, business development, human resources and accountancy, locally and abroad. Previously, he served as Bank Rakyat’s senior general manager, corporate services.
