KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): Bank Negara Malaysia has submitted its report on its investigations into 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) to Attorney General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali.

Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz said the central bank had submitted its report to Mohamed Apandi after completing the 1MDB investigations.

Zeti, however, declined to specify the probe's findings and Bank Negara's recommendation on the matter due to regulatory prohibition.

She was speaking at a press conference in conjunction with the announcement of Malaysia's second quarter gross domestic product numbers.

Bank Negara has submitted its report on 1MDB after a special task force set up to investigate the state-owned company was disbanded.

The task force headed by former AG Tan Sri Gani Patail comprised Bank Negara, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the police.

Today, Zeti said she was not aware of any new arrangement for a new task force following the unit's dissolution.

"However, each agency continues their separate responsibilities into the matter, as it was before the setting up of the task force," she said.

Last week, The Malaysian Insider, quoting the MACC's statement, reported that the high-level government task force investigating 1MDB had been disbanded, with the three main agencies now ordered to work independently.

It was reported that the anti-graft agency sought to allay concerns that it had issued a statement on the RM2.6 billion channelled into the prime minister's accounts without the involvement of the police and Bank Negara.
