KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 2): Axis Real Estate Investment Trust (Axis REIT) said on Thursday (Dec 2) trading of its units will be halted for one hour from 9am on the same day.

The REIT said in a bourse filing trading will resume with effect from 10am.

On Wednesday, the counter fell 10 sen or 5.08% to RM1.87.

In a separate filing on Thursday, Axis REIT said it had fixed the issue price of its 188.04 million placement units, representing 13% of total issued units of 1.45 billion as at Oct 29 at RM1.78 per placement unit to successfully identified placees via a bookbuilding process.

According to Axis REIT, the issue price represents a discount of approximately 4.6% to the volume-weighted average market price of the units for five market days up to and including Wednesday (Dec 1) of RM1.87 per unit.

“Accordingly, gross proceeds from the proposed placement are approximately RM334.7 million,” it said.

Maybank Investment Bank Bhd and CIMB Investment Bank Bhd acted as the placement agents for the proposed placement.

The REIT said on Oct 21 it plans to use the funds to repay bank financing.
