KUALA LUMPUR (March 1): Axiata Group Bhd's foreign shareholding rose 0.96% to 10.5% in January 2021 from 10.4% in December 2020.

According to the latest updates on Axiata's website, the group's foreign shareholding figure previously rose to 11.3% in November 2019 from 11.2% in October 2019.

During the eight years from January 2013 to January 2021, Axiata said it recorded its highest foreign shareholding at 28.3% in January 2013.

As at January 2021, group's total number of issued shares stood at 9.16 billion, according to Axiata.

Its total shareholding summary shows the company had 19,811 shareholders, of which 16,229 or 81.92% of the total number of shareholders were individuals.

As at March 31, 2020, Khazanah Nasional Bhd held a 36.79% stake in Axiata, while the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) owned a 16.63% stake, and Amanah Saham Bumiputera held an 11.95% stake, according to Axiata.

At the time of writing today, Axiata shares were down 0.28% or one sen at RM3.54, with a market capitalisation of RM32.46 billion.
