KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): AWC Bhd said its subsidiary had secured a letter of award (LoA) from the Ministry of Health (MoH) for a five-year contract to provide hospital support services valued at RM106.04 million.

The award follows a tender by Ambang Wira Sdn Bhd (AWSB), a wholly-owned unit of AWC, that has been accepted by the MoH for AWSB to provide the services for the National Institutes of Health.

The contract period is for five years from Jan 1, 2022 to Dec 31, 2026.

This is only the second contract announced by AWC this year. On Nov 15, it said AWSB secured another LoA from the MoH for the provision of similar services to the Gombak Orang Asli Hospital valued at RM12.73 million across the same five-year period.

In December 2020, the group secured a RM107.89 million hospital support services contract for the Shah Alam Hospital for 2021 to 2025.

Shares in AWC settled down 1.5 sen or 2.68% at 54.5 sen on Thursday (Dec 23), giving it a market capitalisation of RM175.05 million.
