KUALA LUMPUR (May 20): Following a brief trading halt in its shares today, Aturmaju Resources Bhd responded to the unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia Securities, after a dramatic plunge in its share price of nearly 30%.
In its response, Aturmaju stated it was not aware of any causes for the share price movement, and said it was in full compliance with immediate disclosure obligations.
This is the third UMA query Bursa Malaysia has issued to Aturmaju in less than three months, the first occurring when its share price jumped by more than two and a half times to RM1.64 on April 21, from just 64 sen in the beginning of the year.
In its previous two UMA responses, Aturmaju’s board of directors insisted they were not aware of any causes of the share price movement.
The company’s shares opened today at 65 sen, however has so far seen a sharp hike in the volume of shares traded, climbing to 3,009,800 shares traded from just 338,200 yesterday.
At 11.36am, Aturmaju was down 22.28% or 20.5 sen to 71.5 sen, with 3.36 million shares done.
