KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 12): Hardly-traded engineering and construction group Ark Resources Bhd saw 5.06 million shares, representing a 11.76% stake, traded off market today, according to Bloomberg Data.

The chunk of 5.05 million shares changed hands at 51.6 sen per share.

It is not known as to who disposed of the block of shares.

According to the previous filings with Bursa Malaysia, Datuk Mohd Salleh Yeop Abdul Rahman, who is the non independent and non executive chairman of Ark, had purchased 5.06 million shares in the company from Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, representing a 12.3%  indirect stake on July 24 this year.

Salleh had purchased the shares at 51.6sen per share in July, through his interest in Rintis Komersial Sdn Bhd.

The largest shareholder in Ark is its managing director Rashidy Aly Abdul Rais, who holds an indirect stake through Larutmas Sdn Bhd with a 27.34% interest; followed by Rintis' stake, and Tunas Enterprise Sdn Bhd with a 11.63% stake.

Ark shares were last traded on Nov 4 at 52 sen, and the company has a market capitalisation of RM22.36 million.
