KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): Confectionery manufacturer Apollo Food Holdings Bhd said its Johor manufacturing facility has resumed operations after a temporary suspension as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Apollo said the Ministry of Health (MoH) approved the resumption of operations for its wholly-owned subsidiary Apollo Food Industries (M) Bhd's premises located in Kawasan Perindustrian Larkin effective yesterday (Aug 16), after a thorough disinfection was carried out.

The group had been instructed by MoH earlier to stop operations for seven days until Aug 17.

"Apollo wishes to inform that the health and safety of all the employees of the company have always been the top priority of Apollo at all times, and not only during the Covid-19 pandemic or other similar health incidences.

"With regard to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo will continue to put in place stringent Covid-19 prevention measures in accordance with the standard operating procedures issued by the relevant authorities from time to time," it said in a bourse filing.

The same facility had also been previously ordered by MoH to halt its operations from June 16 to 22 for the same reason. The factory managed to resume operations on June 18, after thorough disinfection was carried out.

Apollo settled unchanged at RM3.90 today, valuing the group at RM312 million.
