KUALA LUMPUR (June 27): Confectionery producer Apollo Food Holdings Bhd’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended April 30, 2019 (4QFY19) jumped 182% to RM3.84 million, versus RM1.36 million a year earlier.

Earnings per share jumped to 4.81 sen, from 1.7 sen previously.

In a filing today, the group said higher sales pushed up its quarterly revenue by 4% to RM47.57 million, from RM45.81 million previously.

For the full year, Apollo’s net profit jumped 59% to RM17.6 million, from RM11.07 million in the previous year.

Revenue for the full year however, fell marginally by 1% to RM188.84 million, compared with RM190.82 million previously.

The group declared a first and final dividend of 20 sen per share, to be paid on Jan 8, 2020.

Looking ahead, it expects the operating environment to be more challenging, given the uncertainty surrounding costs of raw materials and volatility in the ringgit.

Despite this however, the group is confident of maintaining market position and sustaining satisfactory results for the year ahead.

Apollo’s share price closed  two sen or 0.52% higher at RM3.88 today, for market capitalisation of RM310.4 million.
