KUALA LUMPUR (June 18): Confectionary maker Apollo Food Holdings Bhd said today, its Johor Bahru manufacturing facility has resumed its operations commencing June 18, after the thorough disinfection carried out successfully at the premises.

The group said in a bourse filing the premises that are held by its wholly-owned subsidiary Apollo Food Industries (M) Sdn Bhd had received notice from the Ministry of Health (MoH) to resume its operations.

“Apollo wishes to inform that the health and safety of all the employees of the company have always been the top priority of Apollo at all times, and not only during the Covid-19 pandemic or other similar health incidences.

“With regards to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo will continue to put in place stringent Covid-19 prevention measures in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the relevant authorities from time to time,” it said.

Yesterday, the group announced that its manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru was ordered by the MoH to close for seven days until June 22 for the disinfection of premises to help curb the spread of Covid-19.

Apollo Food closed one sen or 0.27% lower at RM3.76 today, valuing the group at RM300.8 million.
