KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 16): PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the recent exodus of UMNO members of Parliament is being used by by certain groups to drive a wedge between him and Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“I acknowledge that certain groups have made such an assumption regarding the UMNO MPs leaving the party,” he said in a statement issued via WhatsApp this evening.

He also reiterated his support to Dr Mahathir, who is also chairman of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, and stressed that he would continue to work with the Prime Minister to pursue the reform agenda agreed upon earlier.

“Pakatan Harapan has been given the mandate to generate changes towards denouncing corruption, arrogance and racial hatred,” he said.

Anwar also said that the focus now was to drive growth and ease the burden of the people, especially those from the lower income group. -- Bernama
