KUALA LUMPUR (April 28): Ancom Bhd said Bursa Malaysia has approved the diversified company’s request for suspension of trading in the group's securities from 9am to 5pm today "pending the release of a material announcement".

"The request for suspension is made under subparagraph 3.1(a)(iii) of Practice Note 2 on Requests for Suspension of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa pending the release of a material announcement,” Ancom said in a statement on Bursa’s website.

Ancom’s latest closing share price stood at RM1.68 for a market capitalisation of about RM406.16 million based on the company’s 241.76 million issued shares.

Ancom’s website indicates that the diversified group’s businesses include manufacturing and sale of agricultural and industrial chemicals besides information technology and media operations.

"Ancom Bhd is the holding company of Nylex (M) Bhd and Ancom Logistics Bhd, both [of which] are listed on Bursa’s Main Market and ACE Market respectively,” Ancom said.

Nylex’s share trade has also been suspended today. In separate filings on Bursa’s website, Nylex said Bursa has approved the company’s request for suspension of trading of the group's shares from 9am to 5pm today "pending the release of a material announcement”.

Nylex’s latest closing share price stood at 90.5 sen for a market value of about RM162.26 million based on the company’s 179.29 million issued shares.
