PETALING JAYA (May 30): Ampang PKR Youth leader Adam Rosly who faced graft accusations has denied that he is working for Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin, who is also Ampang MP and PKR Women’s chief.

The speculation arose from a viral Facebook posting by him with KPKT officials who were on a work visit at a low-cost flat, leading to allegations that he was working with the ministry and cronyism due to his links to the minister.

The Facebook posting has since been deleted and replaced with an explanation.

“I have stated clearly that I am with the officers from the ministry. They were discussing repairs to the water tank. I am part of the flat’s management, [that] is why I was there.

“The officers were conducting a site visit and discussing maintenance [of the flat]. As the manager, I have to be there. Did I say I was part of the ministry?” he told Malay Mail.

The portal had reached out to Zuraida for her response.

Adam was investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission last year over his unverified wealth. Last month, he was sentenced to six months’ jail and a RM30,000 fine for furnishing false statements and documents to the agency during their investigation.
