KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 15): Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Tune Talk Sdn Bhd has appointed Ameen Abdullah as chief executive officer (CEO), replacing Jason Lo who had served in that capacity since December 2007.

Prior to his latest appointment, Tune Talk said Ameen was the CEO of RedOne and also the head of MVNO and migrant segment at Celcom. "In both instances, he was the major driving force that had positively changed the outlook of the business.

"As the CEO of Tune Talk, Ameen's presence in the company, backed by his vast experience, forward-looking, and a track record of great achievements under his belt, will be the catalyst that will direct the company to unprecedented levels," it said in a statement today.

"Ameen brings a great mix of leadership, inspiration, operational experience, technical breadth, and passion for customer care to the table. All of which will ensure the company stays on the right path in achieving its goal of becoming the Asean MVNO," it added.

Lo left Tune Talk in the midst of a scandal. In November last year, Lo had denied a media report that he was detained in Dubai for drug possession. In a statement to theedgemarkets.com, Lo said he was sent to the police lockup because he had tried to help his friend who attempted to break up a fight at the airport.
