KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 13): Ajinomoto (M) Bhd (AMB) recently officially opened its new eco-friendly factory on a 46-acre (18.62-hectare) site at the Bandar Enstek Halal Hub, in conjunction with the celebration of its 60th anniversary in Malaysia.

In a statement on Dec 10, AMB said the opening ceremony was officiated by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.

AMB managing director and chief executive officer Tomoharu Abe said: “AMB’s new factory, which relocated from Jalan Kuchai Lama to Bandar Enstek, is a ‘smart factory’ and Certified Green Building."

He said advanced technology that optimises operations through automation and digitalisation are incorporated to improve efficiency and productivity.

“The new factory is designed to provide employees a conducive and work-friendly environment, with recreational facilities,” he said.

Following the relocation, AMB established its corporate headquarters at Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil.

At 10.05am on Tuesday (Dec 13), AMB had risen 2.96% or 34 sen to RM11.82 a share, with 41,900 shares done.
