KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 30): AirAsia X Bhd (AAX), which is in the midst of restructuring its debt, has postponed the release of its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021 (2QFY21) by a month from Aug 31 to Sept 30.

The low-cost long-haul affiliate of AirAsia Group Bhd is required to submit its 2QFY21 results to Bursa Securities for public release latest by Aug 31, which is not later than two months after the end of the said quarter pursuant to Paragraph 9.22(1) of the Main Market Listing Requirements. However, Bursa had granted a one-month extension to all listed issuers for issuance of their quarterly reports and annual reports that are due by July 31, 2021 and Aug 31, 2021 respectively, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a bourse filing today, AAX said it would utilise the automatic extension of time of one month for the issuance of its 2QFY21 results.

"The company will endeavour to make the necessary issuance as soon as possible and continue to comply with the continuing disclosure obligations under the Main Market Listing Requirements, including making immediate announcement(s) of any material information to ensure that shareholders and investors continue to receive material and financial information in a timely manner," it added.

AAX shares closed down 0.5 sen or 6.25% at 7.5 sen today, bringing a market capitalisation of RM311.11 million.
