KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 15): AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) rose 3.85% in active trade this after its co-group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes indicated last Friday had indicated that this year is set to be the strongest year for the carrier.

At 9.05am, AAX rose 1.5 sen to 40.5 sen with 9.11 million shares done.

Fernandes had also mentioned several growth strategies of the group in a series of tweets earlier.

Firstly, reallocation plans for routes are in place, Fernandes said.

The strategy would translate into reduction in costs. This involves transfer of more-than-four-hour-long routes from AirAsia Bhd to AirAsia X.

AirAsia X currently serves 26 destinations across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and the US.
