KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): The Dewan Rakyat today has announced 12 new members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) after chairman Wong Kah Woh (PH-Ipoh Timur) and deputy chairman Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun (Bersatu-Beaufort) were appointed on Aug 27.

Speaker of the house, Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun, released a statement today on the 12 new appointees.

The new members are: Datuk Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (Bersatu-Sabak Bernam), Yamani Hafez Musa (Bersatu-Sipitang), Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian), Tan Sri Noh Omar (BN-Tanjong Karang), Datuk Jalaluddin Alias (BN-Jelebu), Lukanisman Awang Sauni (GPS-Sibuti), Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (PAS-Pasir Mas), Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman (PAS-Sik), Nurul Izzah Anwar (PH-Permatang Pauh), Datuk Dr Mohd Hatta Md Ramli (PH-Lumut), Wong Shu Qi (PH-Kluang) and Ahmad Hassan (Warisan-Papar).

Out of all the appointees, only Nurul Izzah and deputy chairman Azizah Mohd Dun were part of the Pakatan Harapan administration’s PAC.

The newly appointed chairman, Kah Woh, had in August urged the speaker to speed up the appointments as the PAC could not function without the committee members in place.

The PAC is appointed at the beginning of every Parliament session, for the examination of the accounts of the Federation and the appropriation of the sums granted by Parliament to meet the public expenditure.
