KUALA LUMPUR (June 28): Agrobank has appointed Khadijah Iskandar as the covering president and CEO of the government-owned agricultural development bank effective immediately.

This follows the departure of Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan whose tenure ended yesterday. Syed Alwi had assumed the position on April 2 last year.

"Agrobank continues to be committed to provide banking services to all our customers and the responsibilities to our stakeholders remain," said the bank in a statement today.

Khadijah has more than 20 years experience in the financial services in both local and international set up, as well as conventional and Islamic banking environment. She has been serving in Agrobank as chief risk officer for the past two years. Prior to that, she was head of credit risk at Bank Rakyat Malaysia.
