KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): Affin Bank Bhd says today that a staff at its head office here at Menara Affin has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now undergoing treatment.

“The bank will be providing the employee and his/her family the necessary support and guidance. All staff in immediate contact with the affected staff will be screened and tested for Covid-19,” Affin Bank said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Menara Affin will be closed tomorrow (Oct 16) for disinfection and sanitisation, and will reopen on Monday.

"All necessary precautionary measures have been undertaken by the bank to mitigate risks of infection to other staff and customers. All staff on the affected floor have vacated the premise and will work from home. The bank is also conducting detailed contact tracing with all employees and other parties that the infected employee may have come into contact with," it said.

The bank further assured that its operations remain unaffected during this period, in line with its business continuity plan that includes backup systems, recovery facilities, remote working arrangements and alternative communications channels.

"Customers are advised to perform their banking transactions via www.affinonline.com or call our Contact Centre at +603-8230-2222. For further updates, customers may refer to the Bank’s websites and official social media accounts," it added.

Affin Bank’s shares closed two sen or 1.44% higher at RM1.41 today, valuing the bank at RM2.93 billion. Year-to-date, the counter has fallen 25.8% from when it was trading at RM1.90.
