KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 16): Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd shares rose as much as 40 sen or 2.58% to RM15.90 so far today after the group said yesterday the Housing and Local Government Ministry granted Aeon Credit a money lending licence.

At 10:18am today, Aeon Credit was traded at RM15.64 among Bursa Malaysia's top gainers. Aeon Credit saw 94,200 shares exchanging hands.

In a filing with Bursa, Aeon Credit said the licence will be valid for two years, effective yesterday (Jan 15).

"The approval allows Aeon Credit to undertake any business of those relating to the money lending activities which complements its existing business," it said.
