KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): AirAsia Group Bhd said today Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor had on Monday (Aug 17) resigned as independent and non-executive director of the budget airline due to personal commitments.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, AirAsia said Noor Neelofa, 31, resigned "due to her other personal commitments".

"The company has received a notice of resignation dated 17 August 2020 from Cik (Miss) Neelofa at its registered office on 19 August 2020,” AirAsia said.

At 5pm today, AirAsia’s share price closed unchanged at 66 sen for a market value of RM2.22 billion. The stock saw some nine million shares traded.

On Aug 7, it was reported that Nelofa, an actress and entrepreneur, was appointed Southeast Asia’s first Regional Ambassador for French cosmetics giant, Lancome, after three years of representing the brand in Malaysia and also being its first hijab-wearing ambassador.
