KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 23): Shares in low-cost long-haul carrier AirAsia X Bhd fell 5.13% this morning after its net loss for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019, ballooned to RM207.11 million from RM57.46 million recorded a year ago, which it blamed on a weaker ringgit and the loss on disposal of three aircraft under a sale and leaseback arrangement.

At 9.03am, AAX fell 1 sen to 18.5 sen for a market capitalisation of RM767.41 million.

The over four-fold rise in net loss pushed its loss per share for the quarter to 5 sen from 1.4 sen previously. Quarterly revenue fell 4% to RM1.01 billion from RM1.06 billion.
