KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 9): The Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) is currently reviewing and negotiating with several new partner prospects following the termination of its intended joint venture with Stoper Industries Holdings Sdn Bhd.

The termination of AAM's intended joint venture with Stoper Industries is a decision that is in the best interests of AAM, said AAM chairman Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha in a statement today.

"Our primary obligation is to AAM members, and to that extent, we have decided to select a partner who will best serve them, expand our business operations, and fulfill our immediate and long-term goals," said Mudzaffar.

AAM, which was established in Jan 26, 1932, has been realigning its operations by downsizing its nationwide network to seven branches and outsourcing its breakdown, towing and repair services through an authorised panel of workshops.

Mudzaffar said AAM expects to make an announcement on the selection of a new partner within the first quarter after reviewing the list of viable prospects.
