PETALING JAYA (Aug 28): The only residential project launch in Desa Parkcity this year, South Brooks saw 76% of its units taken up within two days during its priority sales event last weekend.

Developed by Perdana ParkCity Sdn Bhd (PPSB), South Brooks Condos comprises a total of 920 units in two towers with built-up areas ranging from 876 sq ft to 1,537 sq ft. The selling price starts from RM535,000 or an average of RM700 psf.

PPSB CEO Datuk Joseph Lau said the queue formed as early as 9am on Friday before priority sales started on Saturday.

“South Brooks Condos opened for registration since May this year and has recorded over 4,500 registrants. Besides repeat buyers, South Brooks has also been able to reach out to the younger generation and we are glad that they will be making Desa ParkCity their community,” he told TheEdgeProperty.com via an email interview.

PPSB is a subsidiary of Sarawak-based Samling Group. Besides the 473-acre Desa ParkCity, the company has also embarked on three master plan townships: Marina ParkCity and ParkCity Eastwood in East Malaysia and ParkCity Hanoi in Vietnam.

Situated on a 7.16-acre freehold land, more than 30% of the South Brooks’ project site is dedicated to open space facilities. The development is slated for completion by 3Q2021.

The residential development boasts a dramatic lawn with a brook right in front of the two residential towers, sky deck on both towers and facilities on the top floor of the car park podium for the enjoyment of the residents.

“If you think about the Desa ParkCity community today and what the township has to offer, South Brooks is really reasonably priced. It is also our intention to offer the younger generation an opportunity to be part of Desa ParkCity’s community” Lau added.

Other than South Brooks, recent launches have received overwhelming response from property buyers, with some even seeing all their units taken up within two days during their launches in the weekend.

TAHPS Group Bhd’s Andira Park phase 1 landed homes at Bukit Puchong, Selangor, saw all its 140 units of 2- and 3-storey link villas and 3-storey terraced homes sold over the weekend of Aug 19 and 20.

Boustead Holdings Bhd’s latest offering in Taman Mutiara Rini, Johor, was also well-received as more than 200 interested buyers queued up for three days to purchase the Phase 6A and Phase 6B units on July 22. A total of 227 units of double-storey terraced homes with selling price starting from RM550,000 were sold during the launch.

Meanwhile, S P Setia Bhd also reported good news as all of its 1-and-a-half-storey bungalows in Kingsville @ Setia EcoHill, Semenyih, have been fully booked since their launch at the end of July. Kingsville comprises three development phases with a total of 184 bungalows.

Besides residential development, commercial developments also received good response from the market.

Eco World Development Group Bhd’s high-street mall Eco Galleria at Eco Botanic in Johor Bahru has recorded a 70% take-up rate for phase 1. The phase 1 development will have 240 retail units and is part of the integrated development which comprises a shopping mall, hotels and boutique offices.
