KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 3): About six million individuals in the Klang Valley have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as at Aug 2, according to the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), citing data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).
This translates into 71.2% of the population in the Klang Valley, comprising Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.
Among the six million who have taken at least one dose of the Covid-19 jab, 2.43 million of them are fully inoculated with two doses. This means 28.8% of the Klang Valley population is now fully inoculated.
The state with the highest percentage of the population when it comes to being fully Covid-19 inoculated is Labuan at 56.5% followed by Sarawak (48.6%) and Perlis (30.7%).

Data also show that the total doses of vaccines administered in Malaysia so far stood at 21.67 million.
A total of 14.47 million people or 44.2% of the nation’s population have received their first dose at least, including 7.2 million or 22% who have been fully inoculated.
Meanwhile, a total of 468,526 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were given yesterday (Aug 2), down from the 480,112 doses of vaccines administered the day before.
Of the doses administered yesterday, 223,479 individuals received their first dose while the remaining 245,047 received their second jab.
Johor was the state with the highest number of individuals who had received their first dose yesterday at 37,837, followed by Sabah (32,594), Selangor (25,904), Kelantan (20,722), and Penang (17,966).
For second doses, Selangor recorded the highest number of shots administered at 71,100, followed by Kuala Lumpur (42,368), Sarawak (26,805), Perak (18,060) and Negeri Sembilan (15,032).
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 cases nationwide fell to 15,764 yesterday, from 17,150 cases in the previous day. This has brought the cumulative Covid-19 cases to 1.15 million.
Malaysia also reported the highest number of Covid-19 deaths yesterday at 219, bringing the nationwide tally for coronavirus-linked deaths to 9,403.
