KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 24): Some five million shares, or 3.27% equity stake, in Jiankun International Bhd changed hands through off-market transaction today. 

According to Bloomberg data, the block of shares, worth RM1.5 million, was transacted through direct business transaction at 30 sen per share, which is 11.1% above its market price of 27 sen today.

Jian Kun share price closed at 5.5 sen or 16.9% lower at 27 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM41.22 million. 

Jian Kun engages in air cargo and airline ticketing, and property businesses. Its share price has been on a downward trend since it announced its latest financial results.

For the third quarter ended Sept 20, 2014 (3QFY14), its net loss narrowed to RM173,000 from RM679,000 a year ago. However, for the first nine months of FY14 (9MFY14), its net loss was wider at RM1.64 million compare with, from RM863,000 a year earlier.

Meanwhile, Boustead Holdings Bhd saw some 20.7 million shares or a 2% equity stake crossed off market today for RM98.33 million.

According to Bloomberg data, a single block of shares in the plantation, property and pharmaceutical company changed hands via direct business transaction at 11.52 am today.

The shares were transacted at RM4.75 apiece, on par with its closing price today. Boustead dropped four sen or 0.84% today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM4.84 billion.

This off-market transaction follows another yesterday, which saw 51 million Boustead shares of a 4.9% stake traded off-market at RM4.78 per share.

Boustead's largest shareholder is Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (Armed Forces Fund Board) controls a 58.8% equity interest in the company followed by Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (Retirement Fund Inc), with a 8.94% stake in the company.

Boustead’s share price has fallen by 13.3% from RM5.48 a year ago to its current level today.
