KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 11): The Ministry of Health detected 17 new Covid-19 clusters today, with 13 linked to workplaces.

This brought the total number of clusters reported in the country to 948, of which 477 are still active.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the workplace clusters consisted of five in Johor, three in Selangor, three in Kuala Lumpur and two in Kedah.

The workplace clusters are:
·         The Lembah Subang construction site cluster in Petaling, Selangor (28 infections),
·         Subang Delima cluster in Petaling, Selangor (15),
·         Jalan Bukit Sentosa cluster in Hulu Selangor, Selangor (14),
·         Jalan Berhala cluster in Lembah Pantai, KL (21),
·         Jalan Telawi cluster spanning Lembah Pantai and Titiwangsa in KL (21),
·         Bukit Angkasa cluster in Lembah Pantai, KL (20),
·         Jalan Air Hitam cluster in Kulai, Johor (108),
·         Kampung Tanjung Selabu cluster in Muar, Johor (92),
·         Jalan Perindustrian Getah cluster involving Kulai, Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi in Johor (102),
·         Jalan Raja Muar in Muar, Johor (59),
·         Jalan Gemilang Lima in Johor Bahru, Johor (42),
·         Perdana cluster in Kuala Muda, Kedah (233), and
·         Dedap cluster in Yan, Kedah (11).

Two other new clusters were classified as community infections, namely the Jalan Bakawali Ramun in Kota Tinggi, Johor with eight infections, and the Nanga Lijan cluster in Julau, Sarawak with 23 infections. 

The remaining clusters are the Jalan Bukit Baru cluster (linked to high-risk groups) involving Melaka Tengah and Jasin in Melaka with 11 infections, and the Tembok Bendera cluster (linked to detention centre) which spans Kinta and Batang Padang in Perak  with 21 infections. 

A total of 471 clusters have been declared ended including six clusters today, namely the Kampung Pitas cluster in Sabah, the Permai construction site cluster in KL, the Keladi cluster in Selangor, the Jalan Nakhoda cluster in KL, the Tembok Choh cluster in Johor, and the Langit Selatan cluster in Pahang. 

Malaysia reported 3,384 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing total cases to 254,988.
