KUALA LUMPUR (April 1): Sedania Innovator Bhd, a provider of sustainable energy solutions and healthcare products, has appointed Ng Hock Guan as its new chief executive officer effective April 1.

Ng, 52, takes over from Daniel Bernd Ruppert, who stepped down from the role on Jan 31 this year to pursue personal interests after leading the company for six years since January 2018.

According to a disclosure to the local stock exchange on Monday, Ng holds degrees in marketing from the University of Hertfordshire and in mathematical science from the University of Adelaide.

With over two decades of diverse experience in the consumer goods and healthcare industries, Ng has held various leadership roles in multinational companies across different regions. Notably, he served in several positions at Beiersdorf Malaysia, including brand manager, senior brand manager, group brand manager and marketing director.

Prior to joining Sedania, Ng also held the positions of country manager for Malaysia and Singapore, as well as Asean lead in e-Commerce & Digital at Beiersdorf Malaysia.

In its fourth quarter ended December 31, 2023 (4QFY2023), Sedania Innovator Bhd reported a net profit of RM1.35 million, compared to a net loss of RM356,000 a year earlier.

This was on the back of higher revenue of RM14.97 million against RM8.07 million a year earlier, mainly attributed to growth in the sustainable healthcare and fintech segments.

Shares in Sedania closed unchanged at 19.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM69.46 million.
