PETALING JAYA (Sept 8): Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Seri Setia State by-election Halimey Abu Bakar cast his vote at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Lindungan, Jalan PJS 10/11 here.
The former Petaling Jaya City Council member, a local boy of Kampung Lindungan, arrived at the school at 8.40 am, accompanied by his wife Suhati Bakri, mother Khalijah Md Yusuf and younger brother Salimey.
His mother and brother voted at the same polling centre while his wife voted at the Taman Dato’ Hormat Multi Purpose Hall, PJS 10/34 here.
The polling centre at SK Kampung Lindungan and Taman Dato’ Hormat Multi Purpose Hall are among 18 polling centres open since 8 am today to enable 50,692 registered voters to cast their ballot.
Last Tuesday, 77 per cent out of the 2,770 early voters, comprising army personnel and their spouses as well as police personnel, voted at the polling centres at the Ababil Multi Purpose Hall of the Subang Air Base and PDRM SMS Complex, Shah Alam.
The by-election is witnessing a straight fight between Halimey and PAS candidate Dr Halimah Ali, who is a former Selangor executive councillor. It is held following the death of its incumbent Prof Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin on Aug 2 due to colon cancer
