CYBERJAYA (Sept 7): The concept of Rahmatan Lil Alamin does not mean that the government will be soft in tackling wrongdoings which are against the teachings of Islam, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
He said the introduction of the concept in the implementation of Islam in this country does not mean the government recognises wrongful actions committed by Muslims or would reduce the sentence imposed on actions which go against the religion.
“There are people who view the concept of Rahmatan Lil Alamin as being soft or that we recognise parties which attempt to degrade the image of Islam. This is not true and will never happen.
“We must understand that there is a difference between recognising and tackling the problems of groups which commit wrongdoings..then only will we understand the Rahmatan Lil Alamin approach brought by Prophet Muhammad,” Mujahid said as a guest on the Rahmatan Lil Alamin programme aired on TV Alhijrah here today.
Mujahid later launched "Rahmatan Lil Alamin" as the new tagline for the television station in conjunction with the station’s eighth anniversary, replacing "Rapatkan Saf" which had been used since 2016.
