KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji’s newly appointed group managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Zukri Samat is taking on the role of non-independent and non-executive chairman of TH Plantations Bhd as well.

Zukri, 60, replaces Tan Sri Ab Aziz Kasim, who retired as chairman of the plantation firm on May 14.

In a filing with the stock exchange yesterday, TH Plantations said Zukri is also currently the executive deputy chairman of non-listed MTD Capital Bhd. He was previously the group CEO of BIMB Holdings Bhd, and has separately held the position of MD of Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd.

Tabung Haji is the controlling shareholder of TH Plantations, with a direct 73.84% stake in the company.

The plantation firm has seen an overhaul of its boardroom since the 14th general election, with five of its 11 board members resigning between May 14 and July 27 this year.
