KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and state-owned electricity company Electricite de France SA (EDF) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on knowledge sharing.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, TNB said both parties would benefit from experience sharing and the exchange of information on administration, management and technical aspects related to the energy sector.

"The two-year MoU, which culminated from several years of a strong link between TNB and EDF, is expected to galvanise (an) existing relationship into a long-term fruitful collaboration," TNB added.

International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and French President Francois Hollande witnessed the signing of the MoU by TNB president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azman Mohd and EDF executive vice president Jean-Christophe Philbe.

At 12.30pm today, TNB rose two sen or 0.15% to RM13.72 with 480,000 shares done, valuing it at RM77.66 billion, while EDF closed 0.35% higher at €7.65 for a market capitalisation of €17.03 billion yesterday.
