TOKYO (Oct 22): Malaysia's Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Syed Jaabar Albar has confirmed the location of seven stations for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high speed rail (HSR) project, while speaking to reporters at the International High speed Rail Association (IHRA) Conference held in Tokyo today. According to the SPAD chairman, the confirmed stations will be located in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, Ayer Keroh (Malacca), Muar, Batu Pahat and Nusajaya in Johor. "The government has made a decision on this project and it will involve both sides [with Singapore]. All the respective states have been consulted on this [location of the stations] and they gave given their respective approvals," he said. Syed Hamid added that the project feasibility study, conducted by the Malaysian side, has been submitted to the government. "We've established a joint ministerial committee and a technical committee. We have shared our feasibility study with Singapore," he said. The chairman added that that Singapore is currently conducting its own feasibility study on the project.
