KUALA LUMPUR (June 27): Seremban Engineering Bhd's chief executive officer Chuah Cheong Jin has resigned, citing other business commitment.

Chuah, 63, started his career in 1978 and has accumulated about 25 years of experience in steel fabrication business and metal-based industry with manufacturing capabilities that covers metal forming, machining, mould and die design and fabrication as well as heat treatment.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Seremban Engineering said that before he joined the company on July 9 last year, Chuah was a project manager at SapuraKencana Pinewell Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd.

In 2002, Chua joined Singapore's Vivendi Water System (Asia) Pte Ltd as a senior manager to undertake UPW and chemical system plant for chartered semiconductor manufacturing in Singapore.

He joined Veolia Water System (Shanghai) Co Ltd as deputy contracts director and in 2006, became a senior project manager at Bentini-NF Energy, Sudan. In 2009, Chuah joined Zelan Arabia Co Ltd as project director.

Seremban Engineering shares closed down five sen or 14.29% at 30 sen today, for a market value of RM23.91 million.
