KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 26): Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) has revoked dealer representative Hon Sook Yin’s capital market services representative’s licence for manipulative securities dealing.

In a statement, the SC said the license was revoked under Section 72, read together with Section 65 of the Capital Market and Services Act 2007 (CMSA), effective Dec 18, 2015.

SC said the license was revoked after she was found to have engaged in improper business practices, when trading in the shares of Notion VTec Bhd.

She was formerly attached to Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd, said the statement, adding that she has not filed any appeal against the statutory body’s decision with the prescribed time provided under CMSA.

On March 2 last year, Bursa Malaysia reprimanded, fined and suspended Hon and another dealer representative Ang Kian Chuan, for alleged manipulative or false dealing activities of Notion VTec.
