KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 26): Pestech International Bhd said its joint venture (JV) with Fuji Electric Asia Pacific Pte Ltd has bagged a RM89.53 million contract from Sarawak Energy Bhd to develop a substation in Bintulu.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Pestech said the non-incorporated consortium between its subsidiary Pestech Sdn Bhd and Fuji, called Pestech-Fuji JV, had accepted the letter of award on Sept 23.

The project is expected to commence next month and is to be completed within 21 months.

Pestech said the deal will have no material effect on its revenue and earnings for the financial year ending June 30, 2017, but is expected to contribute positively to future earnings and net asset per share.

Shares in Pestech closed unchanged at RM1.60 today, for a market capitalisation of RM1.2 billion.
