KUALA LUMPUR: Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is increasing the prices for its Axia G model.

The price hike includes the cost to install the anti-lock braking system (ABS) in the vehicles starting from January next year.

In a statement yesterday, Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh said the ABS aimed at enhancing the safety of the manufacturer’s vehicles.

“For our customers who have booked their Axia G between Oct 1 and Dec 10 but have yet to receive their vehicles, Perodua will offer a RM500 Perodua voucher as a token.

“Bookings made from Dec 11 onwards will be subject to the new price and delivery will be from January 2016 onwards,” Aminar said.

According to Axia’s latest price list on Perodua’s website, the manual transmission 1,000c Axia G is priced from RM32,127.16 in Peninsula Malaysia. The automatic version is priced from RM35,127.15.
