KUALA LUMPUR (July 1): Datuk Mohamed Nazim Abdul Razak, the brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has resigned as an independent and non-executive director in Hong Leong Bank Bhd.(HLB)

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it was revealed that Nazim, 53 who had served for 12 years on HLB’s board, has decided not to extend when his tenure, which was approved by Bank Negara Malaysia, expired today.

Nazim, an architect by profession, is the chief executive officer of NRY Architects Sdn Bhd.

He also holds directorships in Hong Leong Capital Bhd, Xidelang Holdings Ltd and 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd, and is the chairman of the nominating committee and remuneration committee of HLB.

HLB (fundamental:2.80; valuation:2.2) shares closed up 2 sen, or 0.15% today to RM13.42 with a market capitalisation of RM24.14 billion.
