KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 4): Datuk Mohamed Nazim Abdul Razak, who is the younger brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, has quit his position as an independent and non-executive director of 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd, with effect from Dec 31, 2015.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it was revealed that Nazim, 53, had resigned due to overseas business commitments.

An architect by qualification, Nazim started his career with Yorke, Rosenberg & Mardell Architects (YRMA) in London, a multi-disciplinary building design consultancy, as an assistant architect.

In 1988, he left YRMA and subsequently joined Geogrefy Reid Associates (GRA) in London as a project architect.

A year later, he left GRA and joined Biscoe & Stanson Architects in London as a design architect. In 1990, he returned to Malaysia and joined Kumpulan Akitek Sdn Bhd as an architect.

Then in 1992, he set up NRY Architects Sdn Bhd and has been a principal since then. He has over 27 years of experience in the architectural field.

7-Eleven, which owns and operates the 7-eleven stores in Malaysia through its wholly-owned subsidiary 7-Eleven Malaysia Sdn Bhd, saw its shares close up 5 sen or 3.25% at RM1.59 today, valuing it at RM1.89 billion.
