KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 30): Malaysia Steel Association (MSA) has appointed Tuan Ngah Tuan Baru as its new chief executive officer, effective Aug 21 this year.

In a statement today, MSA said that Tuan Ngah had been in the steel industry for more than 20 years, with responsibilities in the areas of production, quality control and marketing.

Prior to his appointment as the CEO of MSA, he was the managing director of both Central Sugars Refinery Sdn Bhd and Gula Padang Terap Sdn Bhd (2006-2014). 

He graduated from University of Malaya with a degree in Chemistry and has a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, England, it said. 

Established in July 2010, MSA’s main objectives include promoting goodwill for the benefit of the members of the steel industry.

MSA members include Amsteel Mills Sdn Bhd, Ann Joo Steel Berhad, Ann Joo Integrated Steel Sdn Bhd, Antara Steel Mills Sdn Bhd, Kinsteel Berhad, Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Berhad, Megasteel Sdn Bhd, Perfect Channel Sdn Bhd, Perwaja Steel Sdn Bhd and Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd.
